Each poet was asked to contribute another one of their poems, as well as to choose a poem written by a different poet. The McSweeny’s Book of Poets Picking Poets is available in book form, but was first available as part of issue 22 of the magazine McSweeny’s.

Jesse Nathan was born in Berkeley, grew up on a farm in Kansas, and lives now in San Francisco. Dominic Luxford is the editor of The McSweeney’s Book of Poets Picking Poets (McSweeney’s, ), the founding poetry editor of the Believer magazine, and a founding editor of the McSweeney’s Poetry Series.

For several years he tutored elementary school student for the H.E.A.R.T. program in Portland, Oregon. CA: I pick up books for all sorts of reasons: the title, the color of the title, the font used for the title, the color of the book, the colors used in association with the color of the book.

If you can get past the bombast and the treacly text, it’s actually quite easy to understand, which is great because PU covers a lot of territory in history, geography, mythology, politics, and philosophy.
